COMMUNITY COUNCIL CARDS
First and second prize was divided between Eileen, Carrie and Kieran Scanlon and John Quilty and C. Lynch, both couples with 10 games each. Table prize winners were Donie Donovan and James Bridgeman and John Quilty and C. Lynch (2 prizes). Raffle winners were Bridie Moroney, Joan Fitzgibbon, Bridie McManus, John Dolan and Timmy Murphy. Lottery ticket winners were John Danaher and Bridie and Bridie.

LOTTERY RESULTS
There was no winner of the jackpot of €10,750 with the numbers drawn 13, 14, 21 and 24. The five lucky dip winners were €50 Anne Sheehan, Athea, €40 Chloe Devaney, Croom, €30 each to Denis Collins, Ardagh, Sharon Harte, Pallaskenry and James Bridgeman c/o Cards. 10 free tickets went to D.J. Kenneally, Camas, Newcastle West. This week’s jackpot will be €10,900.

FOYNES FLYERS LADIES BASKETBALL
Foynes Flyers ladies basketball team based in the Foynes/Askeaton area are looking for a coach for the next season which begins in September. Anybody interested please phone 087-4140564.

ST SENAN’S COMMUNITY GAMES MOSNEY 2008
Well cone to all last weekend representing Limerick in Mosney. In particular congratulations to our under-16 girls volleyball team. The girls under the management of Michael Hayes, Fergal O’Kane, Geraldine Fitzgerald and Lynn Nolan came home with the silver medal. Good luck to Kevin Doody this weekend. Kevin is representing St. Senan’s and Limerick at national level in the discus event.
Of course we can’t mention Mosney without remembering that Anna Lowes, Cian Mulvihill, Amy Hoyne and Sarah Dickinson have already done us proud in the May finals.
Thank you to everyone who sponsored the girls on their walk and to local businesses for their contributions towards the cost of the weekend.

FOYNES LIBRARY
Foynes Library is now closed for the summer season and will reopen on Tuesday, September 2.

BORRIGONE WELL
A huge crowd turned up for the annual Mass at the Borrigone Well on Friday afternoon. The Mass was celebrated by the Bishop of Limerick Donal Murray, on the Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Thankfully the rain stayed away for the duration of the Mass and well done to everyone who helped make the afternoon such a success.

SYMPATHY
The death took place during the week of Mrs. Mary Manning, Monemohill, Ballyhahill. Deepest sympathy is tendered to her husband Jimmy, sons Gerry, Jim and Joe, daughters Jean and Anna, brothers, grandchildren, relatives and friends. Remains were removed from Madigan’s Funeral Home on Tuesday evening to Shanagolden Church. Burial took place on Wednesday after 12 noon Mass to the local cemetery. May she rest in peace.

LEAVING CERT RESULTS
Well done to all the students who recently collected their results and best wishes to them for the future. They were all a credit to their parents and teachers as they celebrated their results.

KILLARY CRUISE
The Killary Cruise takes place on Sunday, September 7, we will leave the Courtenay Lodge Hotel at 8am sharp. This is an opportunity to see Ireland’s only fjord. Please confirm your booking by payment on or before Friday, August 29. To facilitate payment we will be in the Parish Centre from 10.30am to 11.30am. Please contact Maureen.

CARING FOR CARERS
In September the Caring for Carers will host an Information and Networking Day at the Desmond Complex, Newcastlewest. Representatives from organisations such as Disability Aids, the Irish Wheelchair Association, the MS Society, Fas and many more will be on hand to answer questions and share information. Carers and other interested parties will also have the opportunity to talk one to one with experienced carers and listen to guest speakers. DECENTRALISATION
Following a request for information on progress in relation to the decentralisation of the Office of the Revenue Commissioners to Newcastle West, Deputy Niall Collins has been informed by Minister for Finance Brian Lenihan TD that his officials had been in contact with the Office of Public Works and had been informed that the project is due for completion at the end of August/early September, subject to satisfactory completion and handover of the project for the O.P.W. At that stage the project will be handed over to the Revenue Commissioners to install their IT. The news was welcomed by Deputy Collins.

RONNIE DREW
Ronnie Drew, ballad singer of the Dubliners fame also passed on aged 73 years. He will be remembered for his unique voice and trademark songs and storytelling and TV appearances. He was diagnosed with throat cancer and he also lost his wife to cancer. Ronnie enjoyed life and he will be fondly remembered.
