CARDS
THE results of the card game are as follows: 1st on twelve games Brid Guerin and Dick Gleeson; 2nd on ten games C. Lynch and partner. The table prizes went to John Wall and Marie Wrenne, Donie Donovan and James Bridgeman. The raffle was won by Joan Hevenor, P. Hevenor (2) and Mick Robinson. The winners of the lottery tickets were Marie Wrenne and Irene Donovan. Cards are held every Friday night at 9.15pm, all welcome.

SHANID COMHALTAS GROUP
The above group hold their music classes every Thursday night from 7 to 9pm in the card playing room in Shanagolden. All musicians are welcome young and old.

RACE NIGHT
Shannonside Football Club are holding a race night in the Shannon House Hotel, Foynes on Friday, November 7. Your support would be greatly appreciated.

REILIG MHUIRE
The Rosary will be recited at Reilig Mhuire, Askeaton on all Sundays of November at 3pm. All grave owners are asked to attend.

PIONEERS
The West Limerick PTAA annual dinner dance will take place in Rathkeale House Hotel on Friday, November 14. Music by Dermot Lyons. Tickets are €25 each and dinner is at 8.30pm.

SYMPATHY
Sympathy is extended to the family and friends of Robert McElligott, Ballyhahill who passed away recently. May he rest in peace.

GAA DRAW
St. Senan’s GAA club are holding a Buster Draw at Limerick Greyhound Stadium on Saturday, November 15. Tickets are €20 each which includes entry on the night. The prize money is €1,000. Tickets are on sale at the moment from any committee member of the senior board, Bord na nOg or ladies football committee. Your support is greatly appreciated. Funds raised from this will go towards the St. Senan’s GAA field development fund. The GAA Field in Foynes is in magnificent condition due to major development and has been complimented by the divisional, county and provincial boards. It is envisaged that phase two of this development will take place in early 2009 and it is thanks to the continued support of the public that this will be achieved.

CHRISTMAS SHOPPING DUBLIN
A bus will leave the Courtenay Lodge Hotel at 7am sharp on Sunday, December 7, for a Christmas shopping day to Dublin. To set you up for the day we will be having a full Irish breakfast in Naas and on our homeward journey we will have a four course dinner with a choice of menu. MARKET
The Farmer’s market has resumed in Newcastle west and will run twice weekly on Saturday and Thursday from 9am to 1pm. All welcome to come and buy locally grown produce.

PARISH RETREAT
As there is a Diocesan Assembly scheduled for Saturday, November 29, our parish retreat, in Ardfert has been deferred to during Lent, (Sunday, March 21, 2009.

FARMING SEMINAR
All farmers in the West Limerick area are invited to a Free Farming Seminar at Listowel Arms Hotel, Co. Kerry on Thursday 6, at 8pm. Find out about the new ‘Moo Monitor’. Listen to specialists from Teagasc, Moorepark with presentations entitled ‘New Innovations in Milking Machine Technology’ and The Importance of grazing management for Dairy Farmers. This is part of the Listowel Food Fair, which runs all weekend with cookery demonstrations, nutrition and healthy eating seminar, farmers market, local craft fair, children’s workshops, national farmhouse, cheese competition and much more.

DINNER DANCE
The country music presenters on WL102FM are organising a dinner and dancing to Mick Flavin on Thursday, December 4, in Rathkeale House Hotel. For further information contact Ann on 087 6406389.

VOLUNTEER FAIR
This year’s West Limerick Volunteer Fair will take place at Desmond College, Newcastle west on Saturday, November 15, from 11am to 4pm. Organised by the Volunteer Support Service, the event aims to allow people to freely explore the wide range of fun and interesting opportunities being offered by over forty community and voluntary groups including West Limerick 102, the Special Olympics, Burren Chernobyl and Amnesty International. WEST LIMERICK DANCING CLUB
The group above are holding a ceili on November 9, at 4pm in the Convent Hall, Abbeyfeale. Music by Matt Cunningham, all are welcome.
