FLOWER CLUB
Newcastle West and District
Flower and Garden Club’s first
outing of 2009 is on Sunday,
February 8 to Siamsa Tire,
Tralee, for the pantomime Ali
Baba put on by Killorglin
Players. Deposits of €20 to Mary

leave the Courtenay Lodge
Hotel, NewcastleWest after
5pm.

CHERNOBYL CHILDREN
The annual charity Ceili run by
Michael Kiely in aid of
Chernobyl Children will take
place at Rathkeale House Hotel
on Saturday, February 28 at
9.30pm with music by Taylor’s
Cross Ceili band. All support
appreciated.

MEDJUGORJE PILGRIMAGE
There will be a Medjugorje
pilgrimage with Marian
Pilgrimages (The Medjugorje
Specialists) onMay 16, costing
€669, fully inclusive seven
nights. Departing from Cork.

SWIMMING
Swimming lessons began in
Pallaskenry in January. This
will be an 8 week course divided
as follows: 10am – 10.45am water
confidence. 10.45am– 11.30am
beginners. 11.30am– 12.15pm
improvers. 12.15pm – 1pm
advanced. The cost will be €60
for one child and each
subsequent child €50.A
lifesaving course also started in
Pallaskenry on Saturday,
January 10 from 2pm – 3.30pm.
Ten week course costs €80.
