DIVINE MERCY PILGRIMAGE
THE Atonement Sunday Divine Mercy Pilgrimage to Knock will take place on Sunday, April 19th. A coach will leave the market yard in Newcastlewest at 8am and Adare Church at 8.20am to facilitate pilgrimages from Ballingarry, Kilfinny and Adare. SPORTING OPPORTUNITIES FOR ALL
Limerick City Sports Partners is offering sports and physical activities for children and adults with disabilities. The Wheelers Get Out, Get Active Program will take place 7-8pm at Scoil Mhuire agus Ide, Newcastlewest each Thursday from April 16th until June 4th. Fee is €30. SYMPATHY
The death has taken place of Noel Ferris, Clashganiff, Shanagolden. Deepest sympathy is extended to his wife Eileen, sons Chris, John, Tommy, Senan, daughters in law, sister, sister in law, brother in law, nephews, nieces, grandchildren, cousins, relatives, friends and kind neighbours. Removal took place on Monday evening at 8pm from St.Senan’s Funeral Home to Robertstown Church. Burial took place in Kilmoylan graveyard after 12 noon mass. May he rest in peace.
The death has taken place of Tom Madigan, Main Street, Shanagolden, local butcher and funeral undertaker. Deepest sympathy is extended to his wife Mary, daughters Margaret, Loretta, Joan, Cait, Noelle, sons Sean, Senan, brothers, sisters, sisters in law, brothers in law, grandchildren, nephews, nieces, relatives, friends and good neighbours.


FINE FAIL CUMANN
At a recent meeting of Shanagolden Fine Fail Cumann votes of sympathy were past for the Dillane Family on the death of Mary-Ita and the Reddan Family on the death of Mike. The Cumann would also like to express its sympathy to the Ferris Family on the death of Noel.


CARDS
First and second prizes were divided by two couples on eight games; Mai Wall and C. Lynch and Nora Dore and Mary Barrett. Table prizes were won by James Lanigan and John Danagher, Jim Woulfe and Frances Woulfe. Raffle winners were Mary Barrett (2), Eileen Carrig, John and Nancy Danagher. Lottery ticket winners were Vinny Wren and Mary Barrett. Cards every Friday night at 9.15pm. All are welcome.


COUNTY ART
Once again Cian Mulvihill’s gift for art was recognised. Cian was awarded the U16 Gold Medal and will go on to represent St. Senan’s and Limerick in Athlone in the national finals. In the U8 category Adam Moroney won the Bronze medal. Adam is one to watch for the future. Sinead Madigan in the U16 Girls didn’t win w medal but her entry was highly commended. Well done to all the St. Senan’s entries.


FUNDRAISING DISCO

The fundraising disco was held in the Yacht Club in Foynes last weekend and proved to be a great success. The 80’s disco saw the return of the Red Dragon Disco and a big crowd enjoyed a nostalgic evening and all the funds went to the Playground Group and running costs at the Community Centre, Foynes. Thanks to everyone who supported the event. The sum raised for the event totalled €1,278.

MUSIC LESSONS
Music lessons continue every Thursday night in Shanagolden from 7pm to 9pm. All musicians are welcome, young and old.

LADIES FOOTBALL
All players please note that training has commenced since last week. The team will be trained this year by Jim Molyneaux and will be assisted by Tom Flavin, Pa Ranahan and Ian Ranahan. All new members will be greatly welcome as we are missing a few players from 2008.

Parents who wish to enrol their child in Shanagolden National School in September 2009 may contact the school for an enrolment form at 069 60215. Parents who wish to enrol their child in St.Senan’s National School in September 2009 may contact the school for an enrolment form at 069 65117.

PARENT AND TODDLER GROUP
The Parent and Toddler Group continues to meet every Tuesday and Thursday morning in the Desmond Complex from 10.30 am to 12.30pm during term time. New parents/carers are always welcome. Price €2 per family, including refreshments.
