THE GRAND KINGDOM TOUR
On Monday, May 18, we will be departing the Market Yard, Newcastle West for a grand tour of the beauty spots in County Kerry. The Kingdom Tour will be resplendent in the early summer foliage. Be sure of your seat be contacting Nora Enright on 087-7453154 or Pat Dalton on 069-62306 without delay.

CARDS
First prize on nine games went to Jimmy Langan and John Danagher. Second prize was divided by two couples on eight games; John O’Malley & Josie Finucane and Irene & Peter O’Donovan. Table prizes went to Peggy Lynch and Mai Naughton. Raffle winners were Bridie McManus, John O’Malley, P. Hastings and Moss Kearney. Lottery ticket winners were Irene Donovan and Peter Donovan. Cards every Friday at 9.15pm. A minutes silence was adhered to for the late Sean Mulcahy and Gerry Lenihan who passed away during the week. They were regular card players in the hall for many years. May they rest in peace.

SYMPATHY
The death took place during the week of Sean Mulcahy, Knockard, Shanagolden. Deepest sympathy is extended to his wife Josie, sons, daughters, nephews, nieces, relatives, friends and kind neighbours. Removal took place from St.Senan’s Funeral Home, Shanagolden to St. Senan’s Church, Shanagolden. Burial took place in Kilbracken Cemetery.
Sympathy is also extended to the Lenihan families Ballysteen, Askeaton on the death of Gerry Lenihan, Ballysteen. Both Sean and Gerry were regular card players in the parish hall every Friday night for many years. May they rest in peace.

KNOCK SHRINE
This year marks the 130th anniversary of Knock with the various ceremonies running from April 26 to October 11. CONFINED MEMBERS DRAW
West Limerick 102FM radio are organising a confined members draw for six months for a prize fund of €6000. The first draw will be held in May and the first prize will be €500, second prize will be €200 and there will be three prizes of €100 .

COUNTY ENTERPRISE COURSES
Joe Wallace who is a Fianna Fail candidate for the upcoming elections has been in touch to confirm that he has got agreement from the County Limerick Enterprise board to hold two of their most relevant courses in the Glin/Estuary area, subject to numbers. The courses are enterprise Board’s Career Makeover and Start Your Own Business. This will be the first time that the County Enterprise Board have held courses in the Shannon Estuary area. SWALLOWS ARRIVE
This years first swallows arrival in the locality were reported on Thursday last April 16. The presence of swallows is often an indicator that summer is here or at least not far off.

ALZHEIMERS
The Alzheimer’s Society of Ireland are requesting volunteers to hold a tea day at work or at home on Thursday, May 7 to collect much needed funds. All who wish to register for a tea party and receive their pack, call 1800 719820 (Freephone).

LOURDES
The Limerick Diocese Pilgrimage to Lourdes will take place from Sunday, June 21 to Friday, June 26. SPORTING OPPORTUNITIES FOR ALL
Limerick City Sports Partners is offering sports and physical activities for children and adults with disabilities. The Wheelers Get Out, Get Active Program will take place 7-8pm at Scoil Mhuire agus Ide, Newcastle West each Thursday from April 16 until June 4. Fee is €30. MUSIC LESSONS

St. Senan’s Social Services Senior Citizen’s Pilgrimage to the Fr. Patrick Peyton CSC., Memorial Centenary celebration at Attymass, Ballina, Co. Mayo will take place on Thursday, May 7.
