ST.SENAN’S GAA CLUB
St. Senan’s GAA Club playing field in Foynes was a place to be recently when the club celebrated the 125th anniversary of the foundation of the Gaelach Athletic Association. It was a wonderful day and well done to St. Senan’s GAA Club for such a memorable event.

ST.SENAN’S COMMUNITY GAMES
We are hoping to reschedule our Sports Day for Friday, May 29 in the Sports Field, Foynes at 6pm.
Basketball - U13 girls under manager Anthony Fitzsimons had a great day in Athea. The girls were down to the last six in the county but failed to qualify on even though the played well on day.
The U12’s soccer team, under Ger Danagher, have won both their matches in the first round. Good luck to all.

MUSIC LESSONS
There will be no more music lessons until next September. Thank you to all who have come in the past months.

NOVENA IN HONOUR OF ST ANTHONY
St. Anthony’s Novena will be held at St.Jonn’s Cathedral Limerick June 5-13 inclusive. Mass each day at 10am and 5.45pm except Saturday. 10am-6.30pm and Sunday 10.30am and 7pm with novena prayers,homily and blessing with relic. Mass offered for all who are making the novena and all who put their petitions. The Novena Director is Fr. Colm Loughran, OFM.

KNOCK SHRINE
This year marks the 130th anniversary of Knock with the various ceremonies running from April 26 to October 11. This years summer youth festival takes place from July 23-26 and is strictly for 18-35 years. €70/free buses. Contact the youth ministry office on 094-9375035 or the shrine office on 094-9388100.

CONFINED MEMBERS DRAW
West Limerick 102FM radio are organising a confined members draw for six months for a prize fund of €6000. The first draw will be held in May and the first prize will be €500, second prize will be €200 and there will be three prizes of €100.

VOLUNTEERS WANTED FOR SPECIAL OLYMPICS NEWCASTLE WEST
Transport volunteers to help insure safety are required to accompany athletes on the bus before and after training on Wednesday nights between 6 and 9pm. The volunteers will be picked up at a place that suits the driver, route and volunteer. If interested volunteers also welcome to take part in training the athletes in Bocce between 7-8pm. All volunteers must undergo a Garda vetting procedure. Contact Paul on 069-79079.

ESTUARY AREA COUNCIL MEETING
West Limerick Resources is now establishing 5 geographic regions in west Limerick. Local community and voluntary groups are encouraged to send representatives to the local area meeting to learn more about the initiative and to take part in their local area elections. The Estuary Area Council meeting and election will take place in Foynes Community Centre on Monday, May 25 at 8pm. Contact Eimear on 069-62222.

COUNTY ENTERPRISE COURSES
Joe Wallace, Fianna Fail candidate for the upcoming elections has been in touch to confirm that he has got agreement from the County Limerick Enterprise board to hold two of their most relevant courses in the Glin/Estuary area, subject to numbers. The courses are enterprise Board’s Career Makeover and Start Your Own Business. Interested participants should contact John at 087-2571085.

LOURDES
The Limerick Diocese Pilgrimage to Lourdes will take place from Sunday, June 1 to Friday, June 26. This year the pilgrimage will be led by Bishop Donal Murray, fare €695. All interested in travelling, contact the Lourdes Pilgrimage Office at Limerick Social Service Centre. Phone 061-314111.
SPORTING OPPORTUNITIES FOR ALL
Limerick City Sports Partners is offering sports and physical activities for children and adults with disabilities. The Wheelers Get Out, Get Active Program will take place 7-8pm at Scoil Mhuire agus Ide, Newcastle West each Thursday from April 16-June 4, €30. The Parent and Toddler Group continues to meet every Tuesday and Thursday morning in the Desmond

MEDUGORJE 2009
The Newcastle West Medugorje Prayer Group are organising a Pilgrimage to Medugorje from August 1-8, departing from Cork Airport. The cost is €659, adult fare for one week B&B and evening meal. WEST LIMERCK TOAST MASTERS
The local club meet at the Desmond Complex, Newcastle West on the first and third Wednesday of each month from September to June at 8.30pm.

CAMP BOSCO 2009
Camp Bosco will take place at Salesian College, Pallaskenry for 3 weeks from Monday, July 6 to Friday, July 24 from Monday to Friday, 1.30-5.30pm. €75 per week with specials available for siblings and a 3 week special offer. NATIONAL ROSARY PILGRIMAGE
The National Rosary Pilgrimage Day in Knock will take place Saturday, June 6. A bus will leave Shanagolden that Saturday at 7.30am and a second pick up in Foynes, returning for 9pm. If interested contact Fr. Mockler at 069-65165.

VINTAGE RALLY
The Annual Athea Vintage Rally has now been put back a week to Sunday, May 1 7.

DROMCOLLOGHER/MAYFAIR VINTAGE RALLY
The Dromcollogher/Mayfair Vintage Rally will take place on Sunday, May 24. Any saleable items are most welcome, also pot plants, bottles for bottle stall etc. Goods collected if necessary. Phone 063-83934 for information.
